Chemically, Incoloy Fasteners consist of nickel, iron & chromium as their primary alloying materials. Besides these elements, the B425 N08825 have trace amounts of molybdenum, copper and titanium added to their alloy.
The ASTM B425 N08825 alloy’s chemical composition is designed to provide exceptional resistance to many corrosive environments. Therefore it is used in many applications where there is a high demand for corrosion resistant materials. These fasteners are used as components in Pickling equipment like heating coils, tanks, baskets and chains.While similar to alloy 800, the astm b425 gr 825 is known to offer improved resistance to aqueous corrosion.
Apart from general corrosion, the Inconel 825 Fasteners has excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids. These Incoloy 825 Fasteners are also known to resist stress related corrosion cracking, localized attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion. Incoloy 825 is especially resistant to acids like sulfuric and phosphoric acids.
