ASTM A672 / A672M - 16 (Standard Specification for Electric-Fusion-Welded Steel Pipe for High-Pressure Service at Moderate Temperatures)
This specification covers electrical-fusion-welded steel pipe for high-pressure service at moderate temperatures. Heat treatment may or may not be required to attain the desired properties or to comply with applicable code requirements. An analysis of each mill heat of plate material shall be made, also, an analysis of the finished deposited weld material from each 500 ft or fraction thereof shall be made. The mechanical test requirements includes one tension test specimen to represent each lot of finished pipe, and one transverse-guided-weld-bend test (two specimens) to represent each lot of finished pipe. Also, radiograph HIC examination shall be made on the full length of each weld.

A672 covers EFW carbon/alloy steel pipe for high-pressure service at moderate temperatures, made from PVQ plate with grade + class.
A672 targets high-pressure service; A671 targets atmospheric/lower-temperature service. Do not interchange without engineer approval.
B60, B65, B70, C60, C65, C70 are frequently ordered with Classes 12/22/32.
Grade, class, OD × wall, NDE, heat treatment and MTC (3.1/3.2).
We supply this product for domestic and export projects with MTC (EN 10204 3.1 standard; 3.2 / TPI on request). Include destination, Incoterms and inspection needs on the RFQ.
