Alloy Steel Socket Weld Fittings are forged small-bore fittings in this material family, supplied with socket weld or threaded ends to ASME B16.11. Size, class and grade must match the piping class.
Material: ASTM A182 F5 / F9 / F11 / F22 / F91. Dimensional: ASME B16.11 for most forged fittings; MSS SP-79 / SP-83 / SP-95 where applicable.
Socket weld is preferred for permanent, high-integrity small-bore joints. Threaded (NPT/BSPT) is used where welding is restricted or future disassembly is needed.
