904L (UNS N08904): high Ni-Cr-Mo-Cu superaustenitic (≈ 20Cr-25Ni-4.5Mo-Cu). Mechanical guide: per SA-312 / PO for 904L — confirm edition.
Use 904L when 316L/317L are inadequate but full nickel alloy is not justified. Compare with 254 SMO / 6Mo and duplex/super duplex on PREN and cost.
