304H (UNS S30409): 18Cr-8Ni high carbon (C typically 0.04–0.10%). Mechanical guide: strength levels per SA-312 for TP304H — confirm PO; intended for elevated-temperature service.
Use 304H only when the design temperature / code calls for H-grade carbon. Do not dual-cert confuse with 304L stock for creep service.
304H vs 321H/347H: stabilised grades resist polythionic / sensitization issues better in some refinery cycles — follow the materials engineer.
