Description of Hastelloy B3 Flanges

Hastelloy B3 (UNS N10675) is a nickel-molybdenum alloy optimized for reducing acids (especially HCl, HBr and sulfuric acid) with improved thermal stability versus B2 for fabrication and welding. Because B3 has low chromium, it should not be used in oxidizing media with ferric/cupric salts. It is not a substitute for C-family alloys (C22 / C276) in oxidizing or mixed media — confirm the corrosion design before selecting. Related: B2 · C276 · C22 · X.
