Savoy Piping Inc. supplies ASTM A333 Grade 3 (ASME SA333 Gr 3) seamless pipe for low-temperature service where notch toughness at cryogenic / very cold design temperatures is mandatory.
Grade 3 is a ~3.5% nickel ferritic grade (Ni typically 3.18–3.82%), carbon max 0.19%, with impact testing at -150°F (-101°C) — colder than Grade 6.
Related: A333 Grade 6, A106 Grade B, Carbon Steel Hub.
ASTM A333 / ASME SA333 covers seamless and welded steel pipe for low-temperature service and other applications requiring notch toughness. Grade 3 is selected when design MDMT demands tougher impact performance than Grade 1 or Grade 6 can provide.

If the datasheet says -50°F / -45°C, Grade 6 is usually enough. If it requires -150°F / -101°C (or equivalent nickel LTCS), quote Grade 3 — not a commercial Grade 6 substitute.

Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Steel Pipe for Low-Temperature Service and Other Applications with Required Notch Toughness ASTM A333 (ASME S/A-333) Pipe grades permit low temperature service. This specification covers nominal (average) walled pipe almost exclusively in seamless. Several grades of ferritic steel are included. Some product sizes may not be available under this specification because heavier wall thicknesses have an adverse effect on low-temperature impact properties. A333 pipe is furnished to nine different grades designated by numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11. Discussed herein are Grades 1, 3 and 6.

A333 Grade 3 is low-temperature service pipe with required notch toughness. It is a nickel-bearing grade impact-tested at -150°F (-101°C) for cryogenic and very low design temperatures.
Grade 6 is the common LTCS grade (impact typically -50°F / -45°C). Grade 3 has ~3.5% nickel and is tested at -150°F (-101°C) for colder service. Order the grade that matches the design minimum temperature.
No. A106 is high-temperature seamless carbon steel without low-temp impact requirements. A333 is specifically for low-temperature service with notch toughness testing.
