API 5L X70 PSL2 seamless line pipe is used for petroleum and natural gas pipeline transportation systems — oil, gas and related transmission lines ordered to API 5L (often dual-mapped to ISO 3183 L485).
The digits after X are the minimum yield strength in ksi × 1000. X70 means about 70 ksi (485 MPa) minimum yield. Typical tensile minimum is about 82 ksi (565 MPa) — confirm against the ordered edition and PSL tables.
PSL2 adds tighter chemistry, mandatory toughness and more testing/documentation than PSL1. If the datasheet says PSL2, do not supply a PSL1 commercial substitute.
Seamless is preferred for many smaller OD / high-integrity packages. Large diameters often move to LSAW/DSAW/HSAW welded pipe — follow the approved construction on the PO.
We supply this product for domestic and export projects with MTC (EN 10204 3.1 standard; 3.2 / TPI on request). Include destination, Incoterms and inspection needs on the RFQ.
